Naturalist | Writer | Educator
I am many things: a naturalist, writer, educator. I’m also a musician, a photographer, a traveler, a cat and dog dad, a daydreamer, a bread maker. Like many naturalists and writers, I never bothered to grow up. My childhood was spent inventing fantasies and sleeping in the footprints of dinosaurs. While I'm a bit too big to fit in the dinosaur footprints anymore (and yes, I've tried), I never really grew out of the fantastical. The thrill of discovery and the passion for the unknown led me to a love of science that has fueled me into adulthood and I have dedicated my life to sharing my discoveries with others.
My travels have taken me far and wide, from the trickling streams of Pennsylvania to the depths of the cloud forests of Costa Rica. I have delved into the realms of fishes and salamanders, sea urchins and cephalopods, swum with sea lions and whale sharks, tracked porcupines and Galapagos tortoises.

"Find comfort in the uncomfortable."
